For quite some time now, our partner OpenERP has been moving in unknown territory. In the past few weeks, OpenERP has introduced a completely new “open source” CMS tool as well as an eCommerce and a business intelligence Engine. Whether you talk about inventory, logistics, production, accounting or sales – there are no limits and everything stays in one hand.
We are convinced that it is mandatory for today’s businesses to integrate their sales channels into an ERP System, whether point of sale, eCommerce or inbound sales. We also think that today’s marketing activities should be linked to a 360 degree reporting engine and a CRM system. And finally, we see the necessity in today’s businesses that project management tools should be connected to timesheets, accounting and financial tools. Given all that, there’s simply no way around OpenERP!
For Version 7.0 there have been nearly 2.000 Apps to date. With the new OTS Version 8.0 (Long Term Support), the current number has grown to an outstanding 3.000 Apps, and counting. No other product offers such a level of “out of the box” integration. The time has come to stand out from the common and garden variety of ERP vendors, since OpenERP’s product portfolio is far ahead of the classic ERP modules. High time to re-think – which is why, on May 15, 2014, OpenERP has become Odoo.
Thanks to Odoo’s technology, the migration is mere child’s play, as compared with other ERP systems. All apps have been made available quickly and easily, especially since the community is the largest and most active in the field of OpenSource ERP. Once OpenERP has been implemented correctly and carefully, a migration is quite affordable – affordable enough, in fact, that you may want spend the savings on an Enterprise Contract with Odoo.
