It takes time to do something well
This also explains why we always take the same first step: In a workshop we establish the actual needs together with our customer. Implementation and configuration, compilation and final harmonization of the single elements are of course that part of the project that takes longest. Depending on customer requirements, either Odoo itself or Magento will act as Master when the interfaces are implemented. This crucial phase may take some time to complete, with a minimum of six working days.
Once the configuration is complete, one or two additional days should be factored in. They are reserved for systematic test runs. After all, we have to make absolutely certain that both parts are functioning together well and doing what we expect them to do. Problems may occur as a result of communication issues between the two systems – since Magento for example uses price lists with fixed matrices (in the form of prices or scales), whereas Odoo uses formulas.
Ultimately, the implementation of an Odoo-Magento-Connector is not possible without close cooperation with Magento itself. Their response time and professional reaction is another factor influencing the duration of a project and, not least, the costs involved.
